Who We Are.
An outdoor industry executive, Mary has built a career upon her passion for being outdoors, and connecting communities, businesses and nonprofits for beneficial change. Her work experience ranges from leading effective sports marketing and public relations teams for Trek Bicycles, standing up Wisconsin’s first Office of Outdoor Recreation, leading transformational change at the International Mountain Bicycle Association to participating as a global consulting team for the Alula region of SA. Bluebird Consulting understands the outdoor recreation industry impact and importance.
Mary’s experience entails strategic planning, fundraising and marketing for nonprofits and as owner of Bluebird Consulting she specializes in meaningful work in the outdoor industry and she excels at creating community and finding long-term business partnership opportunities for like-minded brands. She sees her role to connect the dots in communities around health, economic development, and the outdoors. She is passionate about the benefits including the physical, mental and social well-being that evolve from time spent outside.
Mary lives her passion and mountain bikes, hikes, runs, backpacks and nordic skis and has several athletic accomplishments under her belt including: completing the Breck Epic a 6-day mountain bike stage held primarily above 10,000 feet; the New York Marathon, Boston Marathon; the American Birkebeiner nordic ski race and climbing peaks with her family.
